Jacob completed his 3-month therapy program with MC4K in the fall of 2015. At 10 years old, he was struggling in school even with the many educational supports in place through his IEP. His communication was basically limited to short answers to direct questions. The ease of back and forth conversation and humor with his family and friends was something his parents still hoped for, but had not seen.
At the time his program completed, his parents and teachers were noticing mild, but exciting improvements in Jacob’s social awareness and his communication. He then continued to flourish with only the therapies he was receiving in school. Now, six years later, Jacob’s father was compelled to call our founder back to report the dramatic change in his son’s life.
At the end of 2021 Jacob’s father shared that after microcurrent therapy his son’s developmental gains started growing exponentially! By the beginning of Jacob’s junior year in high school, he had met, exceeded, and then graduated from the special education program, and was now successful in school without any form of support or additional therapy. He has obtained his driver’s license, has many friendships, and keeps his family laughing with his sarcastic sense of humor. Proudly, his father said “Most people can’t even tell he is Autistic anymore. And it is all because of your therapy!”
While we appreciate that sentiment, we know progress requires hard work from a variety sources. So, as much as we would like to, we cannot take ALL the credit! However just like in Jacob’s story, microcurrent therapy can create an opportunity for significant growth to happen!
